Purpose and Objectives of the Project

The project “SUB2. Training Program in the Mediation Process” (OPS Code TA 5223601) has been integrated into the Recovery and Resilience Fund under Action ID 16575 “Acceleration of Justice Delivery”, which falls under Axis 4.3 “Improving the Efficiency of the Justice System.”

The objective of the project is to train 12,000 beneficiaries who hold one of the following statuses:

i.Active lawyers
ii.Trainee lawyers
iii. Certified mediators

The training will be provided exclusively remotely (both synchronous and asynchronous) and will have a total duration of 30 hours. The training providers will be exclusively certified Mediation Training Centers, which, in collaboration with certified Mediation trainers, will implement 12,000 beneficiaries × 30 hours = 360,000 person-hours of training.

It is noted that the training will be provided exclusively remotely (both synchronous and asynchronous), using video conferencing and virtual classroom technologies. The certified Mediation Training Centers providing the training will use:

  • Either the special platform developed by the Ministry of Justice
  • Or their own e-learning platform, provided they mandatorily update the Ministry of Justice’s central platform with all training data.

Project Owner

The operating and funding entity of the project is the Ministry of Justice.

The main activity of the Project Owner (Ministry of Justice) is to ensure the timely and effective delivery of justice, designing and promoting policies aimed at establishing transparency and protecting human rights.

Specifically, it is responsible for planning, specifying, preparing, and implementing projects or actions in the aforementioned sectors, funded by the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) under the Operational Programs of the NSRF.

Contracting Authority

The Contracting Authority of this project is the Operational Structure of the NSRF of the Ministry of Justice.

The Operational Structure of the NSRF of the Ministry of Justice is a special service established in 2017 (Government Gazette 1446/B’/27.04.2017). Its mission is to exercise the responsibilities defined in Articles 16 and 17 of Law 4314/2014, as currently in force, and it reports directly to the Minister of Justice.

Purpose and Main Activity of the Contracting Authority

The purpose of the Operational Structure of the NSRF of the Ministry of Justice is to support the Ministry of Justice, Transparency, and Human Rights and its supervised entities.

Its main activities include:

  • Recording, prioritizing, and specifying needs in all policy areas of the Ministry related to Operational Training Seminars under the NSRF and European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) of the EU.
  • Enhancing the administrative capacity of the Ministry’s services in relation to Operational Seminars of the NSRF and ESIF.
